Liz McDonough is an interdisciplinary designer, artist, and writer who is driven by a fascination for the material byproducts of social systems and the ways people shape — and are shaped by — everyday objects.

Born in Greenwich, Connecticut, and now based in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, she earned her MA in Design from Carnegie Mellon University in 2021. Since then, her work has been exhibited in galleries and cultural spaces from Crete, Greece to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She leads Good Intentions™, an independent design studio dedicated to narrative-driven artistic exploration, material research, and sustainable innovation. Guided by a circular mindset, Liz embraces a closed-loop process where the byproduct of one project often shapes the form of the next. Much of her work begins with found and discarded materials, carrying a provenance that can be traced back to the recycling bin. You can find more about her artistic endeavors on the Good Intentions website: wehavegoodintentions.com.

In addition to her studio practice, Liz works as Global Design Producer for an experiential marketing agency, conceptualizing and producing international programs, and each summer she serves as a studio assistant for creative residencies in rural Greece, supporting sustainable innovation within local communities.
